"Human Rights Have No Place in the Discussion of Property Ownership!"

Facinating. China is attempting to block the auction of historical artifacts in France, that are apparently the spoils of war. The artifacts are two bronze sculptures of animal heads, a rat and a rabbit. China claims ownership based upon cultural heritage, and scorns any insinuation that human rights should be discussed in the same context.

I'm not claiming that two wrongs make a right. But I'm not sure the French are wrong, either - if the artifacts are the spoils of a war 140 years ago, then the sculptures are part of the French cultural heritage, too.

Check it out!

What do you think?
